Runway 14 Safety Slide Area Repair

Monitoring was conducted for several years on a landslide located just outside the safety area on Runway 14.  After a smaller slide occurred adjacent to the first one, the FAA decided to take a proactive approach and correct the situation before a safety area problem arose.  Work involved complete removal of the slumped material down to bedrock, then rebuilding the slope with engineered fill and rock filled gabions.
