We have
recently added two more full-time employees to our staff.
 |
Jesse Weston has joined us as a full-time CAD
Technician. Jesse recently relocated to Sheridan
from Orlando, Florida where she also worked for an
engineering firm doing CAD work. Jesse will be
working with all of our engineers on municipal,
airport, highway and site engineering projects. |
 |
We
are also pleased to announce the return of Kate
Bies, a 2007 summer intern as a permanent full-time
engineer this January. Kate graduated in December
from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. in Civil
Engineering and has moved to Dayton. Kate will
provide design support on a variety of highway
engineering projects. |

Dan went to
the University of Wyoming for on-campus interviews with
Civil Engineering students. This resulted in the hiring of
Eric Holifield, a May 2008 civil engineering graduate who
has accepted our job offer and will officially start May 26,
2008.

Joyce
Schmidt attended the national SHRM (Society for Human
Resource Management) Leadership conference in
Washington, D.C. She was re-elected as the Wyoming State
Council Director for 2008.

Our creative and fun Team
Building Committee organized many events and programs
throughout the year for our staff to enjoy. Some noteworthy
events included a Pumpkin Carving Contest, which was enjoyed
by staff and their families. They also organized a potluck
luncheon, with several varieties of chili and fixings
enjoyed by all. |

Our annual photo contest
judging was completed and winning photos put into the new
2008 calendar and copies made for all employees. The overall
winner was Dan Allen with his stunning photo of the
Matterhorn in Switzerland. |

Randy Bomar
was chosen as Business Person of the Year by the Sheridan
County Chamber of Commerce. |

We held our
annual Christmas party at the Wagonbox in Story, Wyoming. It
was a wonderful evening complete with a fun white elephant gift
exchange! |

Our
employee Chad Lynn welcomed a new baby boy on Jan. 4th.
Weighing in at 7lbs, 14oz and 20 1/2" long. Welcome to
the Vista family Cooper! |

Schmidt tested for and passed her SPHR (Senior
Professional in Human Resources) Exam in January. |

We conducted an
all-staff retreat on Jan. 25th and our Strategic Planning
Session on Jan. 26th. |

We received an
Award for Excellence from the Colorado/Wyoming Chapter of
the American Concrete Pavement Association for the Sheridan
County Airport Apron Reconstruction. |
