At Vista West Engineering, we work hard but also recognize there is life after work.  We are fortunate to live in a growing and vibrant community with abundant recreational opportunities. 

Many of our employees locate to Sheridan because of our small town atmosphere and the ability to access our beautiful mountains for hiking, camping, fishing, 4-wheeling and hunting opportunities. 

It’s not uncommon to find several employees participating in community events or going on weekend outings together.  This is part of what makes us such a strong team and the workplace seem more like a family rather than a business.

2012 Photo Contest:

The annual Team Building Committee’s photo contest was filled with great photos taken by employees and their families. Categories include People/Pets, Landscapes/Cityscapes, Wildlife and Open.

After employees vote for the top 3 photos in each category, they are used to create the company calendar.

Many of our employees are avid travels or outdoor enthusiasts, so choosing the best is always a challenge.

The overall winner is awarded with a framed print that is displayed in the office. Congratulations this year to Angela Brugger and her photo, Rocky Mountain High.

Pumpkin Carving Contest:

This Halloween marked our 5th annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. After 30 minutes of timed carving, participants were divided into 3 categories, votes were tallied and winners announced.

Jeff Feck & Kayla Parker tied in the Free hand category. Neil Trentacosti took the Template category by a landslide and Evan & Katie Feck tied in the Children’s division. There was some great competition, creative thinking and lots of laughs! We can’t wait for next year!

5th Anniversary Picnic:
 
We recently celebrated our 5th Anniversary at Vista West. We opened for business in 2006 following the negotiated purchase of a civil engineering group that was started by the principals of our company 25 years ago. Since then, we have continued to provide exceptional service to our clients and maintain our long term business relationships. Our team members have a deep history together and are looking forward to celebrating many more anniversaries as Vista West Engineering.

Pinewood Derby:

Vista West Engineering participated in the Pinewood Derby in April 2011 for the 3rd consecutive year. The annual Boy Scout fund raiser attracts over 40 entries each year and the competition is always tough.
We improve our design every year and are bound to take 1st place soon!

Bowling:

The Vista West Engineering bowling event in March brought an evening of fun and friendly competition.
High score for the men’s and women’s divisions were each awarded with a traveling trophy; engraved with their name and winning score.
