Sheridan County Road 62, Metz Road
The Metz Road project was completed in the summer of 2010 within a 25 working day window. The project involved 1.5 miles of full depth reclamation which blended the existing asphalt pavement, base material, and subgrade with the addition of cement. Once graded and compacted, the reclaimed material received a 3” plant mix overlay. By utilizing this method, the expenses of soft spot repair in the poor subgrade and removing and hauling in new base material was eliminated, giving the County a new roadway with an estimated savings in excess of $300,000 when compared to conventional reconstruction.
