WCSD#1 Newcastle Transportation & Distribution Facility

This facility consists of two new buildings to replace the previous bus storage and maintenance facility that was destroyed by fire in 2008. One design challenge included locating and setting floor elevations for the buildings considering the large amount of elevation difference across the site from north to south. This was accomplished with careful grading design using computer modeling, and ultimately installing retaining walls as necessary to accommodate the grade changes on the site.
